We’re excited to announce a new chapter in our journey — WH Alumni Youth Basketball is now a dedicated training camp experience focused solely on skill development, discipline, and growth for youth athletes.

While we’ve loved building community through league play, we’re now shifting our focus to what matters most: training the next generation of ballers. Our camps are designed for ages 7–10 and 11–14, offering weekly sessions that build fundamentals, sharpen game IQ, and boost confidence — all in a fun, structured, and positive environment.

Whether your child is just starting out or looking to take their skills to the next level, our training camp provides expert coaching, mentorship, and motivation every step of the way.

AGE DIVISIONS

We welcome boys and girls in two competitive yet fun divisions based on age:

🏀 (Ages 7–10):

For young players ready to learn the basics of the game while building confidence and coordination.

🏀 (Ages 11–14):

Designed for middle school athletes looking to sharpen their skills, compete at a higher level, and grow as leaders.

Meet the Coaches

Marvin Owens

COACH
Marvin Owens is a 2002–2003 state champion, CCRI’s all-time leading scorer, and a former NBA G League player. He earned honors as a Junior College First Team All-American and Sun Belt All-Conference standout. Throughout his career, Marvin was coached by legends — Rollie Massimino, the Hall of Fame coach who led Villanova to the 1985 NCAA Championship, and Dennis Hopson, former No. 3 NBA Draft pick and Ohio’s all-time leading high school scorer. Marvin went on to play professionally in China, France, and Switzerland — where he was named Swiss League MVP in 2016, averaging 25.7 points per game.
DESMOND LYMON

COACH
Desmond Lymon is a West Haven native and former multi-sport athlete who earned All-State and All-Conference honors in football, winning a state championship in 2002. At Southern Connecticut State University, he was a two-year captain, All-Conference selection, and helped lead the team to its first NCAA playoff appearances. With over 21 years of experience running youth camps and leagues, Desmond has also coached high school football at multiple programs, making history at Jonathan Law by leading the team to its first playoff appearance. He currently serves as the Head Football and Girls Basketball Coach at Bassick High School, where he continues to mentor and develop student-athletes.
LEVI JORDAN

COACH
Levi Jordan is a 2002 high school state football champion and a two-time All-State and First Team Levi Jackson honoree, known for averaging 19.5 points per game during his standout junior year. A multi-sport athlete, Levi also excelled in track and field as a two-time captain and All-Conference hurdler. Now a CIAC-certified coach and CEO of Best of the West LLC, he continues to lead and inspire youth through sports, mentorship, and community-based programming.
